Director of Marketing

Maria Petrenko has served as Marketing Director at Music Hall for nearly twenty years, helping shape the theater’s identity as both an intercultural performance center and a Detroit cultural landmark. Her work spans branding, advertising, digital strategy, and audience engagement, with a focus on making the arts accessible and meaningful to the community.

An award-winning art director and creative entrepreneur, Maria brings a rare blend of technical expertise and artistic vision to her work. She holds degrees in Computer Science and Advertising, which allow her to approach marketing with both analytical insight and creative flair. Over the years, she has directed campaigns that have introduced Music Hall to new audiences while staying true to its historic roots.

Maria’s dedication extends beyond the stage. She is passionate about humanitarian work and global community-building, having led volunteer projects in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America through organizations like Habitat for Humanity. She continues to lend her skills to nonprofit initiatives closer to home, guided by the belief that both art and service have the power to unite people and inspire change.

Through her dual commitment to cultural programming and humanitarian service, Maria has helped position Music Hall not only as a venue for world-class entertainment, but also as a space that reflects and uplifts the spirit of Detroit and its people.
